  • Do I need a referral to attend the Melbourne Veterinary Specialist Centre?
    Yes, please ask your veterinarian for a referral?
  • How do I confirm an appointment?
    Either you or your veterinarian contacts of office to arrange an appointment that will be accompanied by medical records and x-rays etc.
  • Do I feed my pet before attending my appointment?
    Generally we recommend that you do NOT feed you pet prior to an appointment, except water and necessary medication when advised.
  • Is payment required on the day of the appointment?
    Yes, full payment for the professional service is expected, unless prior arrangements are confirmed.
  • What is the standard consulting process?
    At the initial appointment, the practitioner will spend I hour discussing your pets health, medical history, signs and symptoms. Once a diagnosis/treatment plan is determined a detailed estimate of costs is presented. Once the client approves and signs the estimate and consent form for treatment, the procedure is co-ordinated within the day’s schedule.
  • Are there concessional rates for pensioners/healthcare cardholders?
    No. our professional fees are the same for all clients.
  • Are there charges for post operative/revisits?
    Yes, generally all post operative appointments, pharmacy, bandages and revisits are all charged to the client.
