Florence the Golden Retriever

posted: 22/May/2015

Florence is a lovely 8 month old Golden Retreiver.

She was referred to Dr Peter Laverty one of our Surgery Specialists at MVSC for right forelimb lameness.  Her local vet clinic - Boroondara Park Animal Hospital referred Florence after she had no response to treatment with anti-inflammatory medication.

A CT scan of both elbows was performed and a fragmentation of the right medial coronoid process was found. An arthroscopy was performed and the fragment was loosened and removed. Florence recovered from anesthetics without complication and was weight bearing on her right leg the next morning.

Florence’s exercise will need to be kept to a minimum for the next 4-6 weeks while she fully recovers and we look forward to seeing her back to her bright and bouncy self.
